Executive Sam Page’s administration had looked into complaints from county jail employees of inappropriate behavior by jail director Raul Banasco months before his resignation Wednesday but did not find cause to discipline him, a spokesman for Page said on Thursday.  Banasco resigned on Wednesday, a day after 55 jail employees submitted a signed letter to the County Council accusing him of bullying and intimidation. The resignation came after Page’s operations director confronted Banasco on Wednesday with an allegation that he had inappropriately touched a jail lieutenant earlier this year.
