It’s BHM (Black History Month) right?! So it’s only right that I highlight on-air programming/broadcasting! Do you know when the first African-American show premiered?! If not, it was way back in 1929! A then ‘white’ only owned radio station called WSBC in Chicago aired for the very first time a program exclusively for featured Black performers called “The All-Negro Hour’ in November of that year. The program featured the music, serial dramas and comedy of known Black performers during that time.
