10 Reasons Why We'll Always Be Thankful For First Lady Michelle Obama

Most of the nation, minus some Donald Trump supporters, are STILL mourning the end of Barack Obama's presidency – but he's not the only Obama the country will sorely miss. Michelle Obama changed the game for First Ladies, Black ladies and women as a whole.
Sure, Jackie Onasis was known as the most fashionable FLOTUS to ever step a stiletto in the White House, but that all changed in 2008 when Mrs. Obama hit the scene. There's literally nothing that our former First Lady can't do. She's in tune with what's happening in the culture, she inspiring without being preachy, and she's a Black Woman which means her power expands far beyond just being good wife to the President.
The former first lady's book, "Becoming" has been no. 1 on Amazon's best-seller list virtually since its release and has stayed there longer than any other book since 2012's "Fifty Shades of Grey." According to Amazon, the book is already among the "hottest titles of the decade and it was only released in November. See, that's the power of Mrs. O in full effect.
As usual, Michelle dropped hella gems on folks during her book tour. She got candid about super deep topics, like the dangers of being a woman in today’s world.
The world is dangerous, sadly, for women. I want us to just kinda sit with that for a minute, because it’s usually men who make it dangerous for us. And it doesn’t always look like physical abuse. It doesn’t always look the same. It’s those little cuts. Those little negative comments. It’s somebody, when you’re walking down the street and some man looks at you and makes a comment about you, as if you wanted…that’s a cut. That’s a slice into a woman’s self-esteem, when somebody talks down to them.
If you talk down to women at all, and a woman is in earshot of what you’re saying, that’s a cut to her. And then the cuts get deeper, because there’s abuse and there’s rape. There’s sexual assault. There’s all this that we’re hearing. The world is unsafe for women, and I want our men to understand that about what role they’re playing to make us feel safe or unsafe. But I grew up in safety and security. I grew up where I trusted men to take care of me. And I think that that gave me a level of strength that carries me through to this day."
We love us some Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama. Check out these ten reasons why we'll always be thankful for the flyest FLOTUS ever, Michelle Obama.

Godiva Goddess: 30 Times Ryan Destiny Made Us Drool Over Her Beauty
Back in the day, there were a plethora of brown skin beauties on the big and small screen. There could be a new movie out starring Gabrielle Union at the same time Nia Long's new film was being released. These days, the pickings are kind of slim. Even though we've come a long way when it comes to giving brown skin Black women their just due in society, we still have a ways to go.
But thank god that young godiva goddesses all over the world have stars like Ryan Destiny to look up to and show them a beautiful reflection of themselves in the media. We first came to know Ryan as as a member of the girl-group Love Dollhouse in 2013. However, due to reasons still unknown, the group disbanded in 2015, and Ryan decided to try her hand as a solo star. Fast forward to December 2015, Destiny booked one of the lead roles as Alexandra in Lee Daniels' new series 'Star'. It's pretty safe to say she became a star in her own right after that.
Besides being uber talented, fans fell even more in love with Ryan after finding out that she's dating Keith Powers, who played Ronnie in the New Edition Story. The young, black power couple have their own fan base of "Ry-eith" stans. One fan tweeted, "Keith Powers and Ryan Destiny are like the actual literal definition of sex." Woo! Must be nice.
Keith is clearly obsessed with his bae RD. He's always gushing about his love for her, whether it be on social media, or talk show like The Real. He told the hosts, "I am dating Ryan, she's amazing. I met her a teen Vogue party. It was real platonic. And I seen her walk in, and I said to my friend 'Who Is That?'" And the rest is cute couple history.
But we get it, Keith. We're pretty obsessed with the beauty that is Ryan Destiny too. In honor of the star's 24th birthday today, take a look a some of her most flawless moments that almost made us drool. You're welcome.

Crown Royal's HBCULove Tailgate Experience Comes To Atlanta
Atlanta was the home of Crown Royal's latest #HBCULove tailgate experience. On December 15th, Crown Royal brought the #HBCULove Tailgate to Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium. Fans stopped by to root for their team at the 2018 Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl. The North Carolina A&T Aggies, champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, defeated the Alcorn State Braves, champions of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, in a close game with a score of 24–22. Despite who you were rooting for, everyone still came together at the #HBCULove tailgate for a good time. Attendees were also encouraged to sign the Crown Royal “Wall of Gratitude” sharing what they were most grateful for in exchange for a Crown Royal hoodie or seat cushion. For every signature, One Solution will donate $1 to the HBCA Hall of Fame Foundation.
