3 women recently overdosed off of drugs in a Missouri jail, located in Franklin County. Luckily, all 3 women were able to receive medical attention and survived. Staff at the jail quickly “found out” who they got the opioids from and that woman is possibly facing charges, for smuggling and distributing the contraband within the facility.
In effort to crack down on people bringing drugs into jails, there’s some new technology out (costing around $175,000) that allows staff to make sure nothings being stashed within a body cavity. Not sure how this would help in cases where it’s the staff who’s actually bringing the drugs into the facilities–but that’s another story.
