The homeless problem in St. Louis continues to grow as facilities shut down and cutback. It was recently reported that the Biddle House Homeless Shelter that used to house 300 people, will now only be housing 100 and turning the other 200 away. On another note, we see homeless people everyday as we go to and from work, the store, the gym, and to other places. If you have some cash or encouraging words to spare, please do. However, in many cases, that won’t solve the problem.
Many homeless people need resources that can help them transition out of their current state and back into society with solutions such as: physiological and medical evaluations, employment, transitional housing, drug and alcohol abuse programs, GED classes, and more.
This should be something that the city has in their budget to address the needs of their citizens.
