Jerhonda Pace, a 24-year-old Chicago woman, has recently broke her silence surrounding a previous alleged underage sexual relationship with R&B superstar, R. Kelly.
Pace, now a mother of three, spoke exclusively with Buzzfeed News, to recount her sexual past with Kelly, which began when she was 16 years old.
Pace told the outlet that the pair’s interactions began after Kelly spotted her waiting outside of his 2008 child pornography trial when she was 15. Growing up as a teen in Chicago’s South suburb’s, Pace said she idolized the star who hails as one of Chicago’s biggest celebrities. According to Pace, the two did not engage in sexual encounters until 2009, when she was 16.
#PressPlay: #JerhondaPace shared more details about her time as one of #RKelly's alleged sex cult victims when she was 16. She says that the singer would never allow her to leave their home and he would instruct her to call the studio to bring her food if she was hungry 👀 (view previous post for more details)
She said that Kelly advised her to tell “anyone who asked that she was 19, and act like she was 25.” She goes on to say that the while she lived in his home, she was told what to eat, wear, and had to ask for permission to use the bathroom and leave the premises.
Pace is one of many woman who have publicly come forward this summer, accusing the musician of sexual and physical abuse, and alleges that he has held multiple women against their will, separating them from their families. Her coming forward breaks a previous nondisclosure agreement she signed with Kelly’s lawyer. Pace’s account corroborates previous reporting from Buzzfeed, who initially broke the “sex cult allegations” story.
She hopes her story will encourage other young women whose families claim are still involved with the singer, to come forward. “If I can speak out and I can help them get out of that situation, that’s what I will do,” she said.
Pace said their relationship ended in 2010 when he caught her texting a friend. She claims after she was caught, Kelly physically abused her by choking and spitting on her.
“I know speaking out against Kelly, Kelly could sue me. But I’m really not worried about it anymore,” Pace said. “I feel like this is a healing process for me, because I’ve been holding this in for so many years, and to see that he always gets away with it, it’s just not right.”
