What a holiday – World Emoji Day!
On this day 3 years ago, thank goodness to Emojipedia founder, Jeremy Burge, introduced the emoji keyboard to the iPhone’s iOS on July 17, 2014… (but why does it feel like emojis have been around longer on the iPhone…) #ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmm
They say pictures speak a thousand words – yet, emojis are not labeled, so their meaning is totally up to the person using them. According to psychologytoday.com, emojis have been found to add tone and clarity to our messages – like adding sarcasm or humor (ha lol) when words seem to fail us.
But the worst thing you can do is use the wrong emoji when trying to prove a point or clear up a situation. Either way, make sure you refer to the emoji dictionary so that you use them correctly ;)
So, join the fun today and check out how everyone is celebrating by using the hashtag #WorldEmojiDay
Ok – have a lovely Monday and show the world what you got!
