It all started a little over three months ago when Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates started using his now-famous catchphrase at the end of his videos on Instagram. He didn’t even have his trademark grill at the beginning. But in the next video, you could see Gates was ready to turn up as he packed for a run to New York City.
By the middle of May, Gates was slugged up, shining and ready to hit the road for his By Any Means Tour (stopping here August 9th):
And here’s what looks like the first video where Gates gets graphic on us. He wants his future wife to, uh, take care of his brother the same way she would take care of him. Once again, graphic language here.
On the lighter side of things, Kevin runs into one of his younger fans that definitely rep that #BWA (short for Gates’ Bread Winners Association label):
Here, Kevin plans to stay in the mix unlike his little brother who recently tied the knot. Ladies with a credit score of 750 or higher get at Gates:
Quality phone time with bae on the road in the driver’s seat–which is the set for most of his #idgt videos–and showing the world how much he loves being a boss, all while recording. Gates, changing the multitask game one video at a time.
Now that he has your attention, let’s get back to real reason we’re all here: KEVIN GATES IS A DAMN GOOD RAPPER.
Kevin Gates is also for the children:
This is probably one of the funniest on the strength of the camera having perfect comedic timing:
Don’t tell Kevin Gates how to film his videos.
Always the visionary, Gates tells his son what to expect down the line:
Kevin’s also a rational thinker:
And he wants something different:
And somebody remixed this:
And then Chris Brown remixed Kevin’s #idgt series:
Gates is like the human version of meme on IG in this clip:
And clears up any controversy he may have started with the last IG’s caption:
And the latest visit from his young son:
