According to CNN:

A university police officer has died after being shot on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus in Cambridge late Thursday, according to state police.

Police and the FBI responded to reports of gunshots at Building 32, according to MIT, which posted a message on its Twitter account. Officers surrounded and cordoned off the building.”

MIT is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts which is an area of Boston. The University is warning people to stay away from the area as it’s still an active and dangerous scene.

According to CNN, Students and faculty received e-mails to alert them to the event.

Residents of Boston have been on edge since the activities from earlier in the week when havoc ensued up 2 bombs going off during the Boston Marathon.

[Update] 1:08 AM EDT Several reports of a car-jacked Black Mercedes in Watertown, Mass, suspects were throwing grenades at the police while they were being pursued. There is possibly a bomb in the middle of the road that the police are having to get detonated. The Swat Team is said to be on the scene. http://livewire.wcvb.com

Cell Phones have been ordered off as they could potentially set off un-exploded bombs!

One of the 2 suspects is in custody has been shot. The other suspect is still at large, Boston residents are warned to STAY INSIDE!

[Update] 1:32 AM EDT Reports that 1 of the suspects is in custody. Stories are emerging about the events in Watertown, Mass including bombs going off and grenades being thrown at police. Reports of 1 officer down (Officer has been taken to the hospital) while the suspects were being pursued. FBI and Homeland Security are said to be on scene. NO OFFICIAL WORD on if these suspects are linked to previous explosives from the Boston Marathon blasts from earlier in the week. Swarms of police and SWAT are said to be all over the scene.

Boston Globe Reporting: One Marathon bombing suspect has been caught, and another is on the loose in Watertown after a firefight with police, officials said. This has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED by officials yet.
