gty_prince_william_kate_middleton_thg_111214_wgWow this is definitely a prank gone horribly wrong. Earlier this week two Australian radio DJs pretended to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles to get information on the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton after she checked into a London hospital for “severe morning sickness”. On Tuesday two DJ’s prank called King Edward VII Hospital and spoke with a nurse who transferred them to Kate’s private ward/room where the nurse there gave them a bit of information on the Duchess condition. On Wednesday both DJ’s apologized saying they didn’t think they would actually be put through because their accents were so horrible. Also on Wednesday the hospital said: it deeply regretted the call had been put through. Today a tragic turn of events the 1st nurse who transferred the call to Kate’s private room has been found dead of an apparent suicide. The hospital, who identified the nurse as Jacintha Saldanha, said she had worked for King Edward VII Hospital more than 4 years. The hospital’s chief executive, John Lofthouse, said “Everyone is shocked by the loss of a much-loved and valued colleague.” The palace also released a statement saying, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha.

Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.” As far as the two DJ’s Mel Greig and Michael Christian, a spokeswoman for the station said the pair will “not return to the show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy.”

WOW!!! Very sad story. Mrs. Saldanha was married with two children. #RIP
