After releasing 2 cd’s in 2 years Jazmine Sullivan sent out a tweet in January saying: “i promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much. u have no idea how much u’ve inspired me and fed my ego, but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i’m lookin for. that belief in myself. me. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue”. I thought this was just something she needed to get off her chest just venting especially since the tweets were deleted an hour later but a very reliable source told me she has in fact quit music…..Dang!!! I checked her website and they are still promoting her last cd “Love Me Back” which btw was one of my favorite cd’s last year which is why I’m doing this post I was listening to it in the car yesterday and I’m like wait did Jazmine really quit music! No word on the the reason she quit just speculations that their was too much pressure on her to conform to what society thought she be or do. If that is the reason I commend her for her decision not to conform but I’m sure going to miss her music I think she was one of the best artists of this generation! Many people don’t know she started off as a song writer writing hits for Monica and Christina Milian. Peep some of her videos below:
